Excellent with Python and shell scripting
Proven application and theoretical understanding of algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection
Experience with applying classical time series analysis and forecasting methods
Exposure to and usage of container technologies like Docker
Exposure to cloud and orchestration architectures such as AWS, Kubernetes
Strong SQL skills knowledge of relational databases and data modeling (Teradata, Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL experience a plus)
Experience with scripted SQL interaction and general automation type scripting
Experience with version control using git and GitHub
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working as part of a development team
Experience with classical machine learning libraries such as sklearn and deep learning frameworks such as pytorch, tensorflow or their high level APIs (e.g. Keras, FastAI)
Experience with applying data encryption and data security standards
Experience leading projects from inception through production support
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and present analytic findings in a compelling manner using tools like Tableau
Experience working with Hadoop or Spark and large, distributed datasets a plus
Description
The Finance Data team is part of Finance Business Process Reengineering, which supports the entire Apple Finance organization. Our Finance Data team enables the Finance organization by providing quality data accessibility, analytics, reporting and automation services. We are looking to expand capabilities in the areas of data privacy, high-performance computing, advanced analytics and general business intelligence. You will help Apple Finance grow our analytic capabilities by becoming a data science analyst for the Finance Data and Technology team. You will be working with business and IS&T partners daily, acquiring their feedback and implementing analytic models that drastically change business process and provide critical insight. You will need to be comfortable communicating complex model results in simple business terms. Your ability to learn different process areas quickly will determine how successful you are. Analyze current state business processes and data, find opportunities, and deliver analytic solutions Identify primary data sources from EDW, other IT systems or offline/3rd party systems, creatively acquire new data to expand capabilities Create data pipelines to enable one off and/or continuous analytics Develop effective financial forecasts using classical time series, machine learning or Bayesian methods Interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using unsupervised methods, design algorithms for prediction to automate decision making Partner with web developers and software engineers to deploy models Effectively communicate insights to Finance stakeholders and leadership Build with supportability in mind: provide great documentation, implement code testing and data profiling Research new technologies and methods across data science, data engineering, and data visualization to improve the technical capabilities of the team Partner and mentor data analysts on the team to grow capabilities
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Business Analytics, or Data Science. Postgraduate degree a plus Proven experience in a data analytics or data science role Experience or education in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration a plus
