Seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team providing incident response support for a large corporate network. Primary responsibilities are real-time network monitoring, alert investigation & classification, and executing incident response in accordance with established procedures. This position is in support of a 24x7 cybersecurity operation, and the selected candidate will be required to work weekends, evening/night shifts, and some holidays. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in similar operations centers, and be knowledgeable about a wide range of potential alerts. In addition, the optimal candidate should be able to quickly absorb incident details to gauge severity, combine information from multiple sources to spot trends and outliers, and be comfortable analyzing network traffic and working with command line tools.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
Candidate must have the following to qualify:
Experience with common network protocols and network traffic analysis
Working industry knowledge of and experience writing and using common scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
Experience analyzing PCAP network traffic
Experience using Windows command line tools
Experience using Linux command line tools
Experience with common cybersecurity tools including SIEM, IDS, NetFlow or other network monitors, firewalls, and EDR
Strong communication skills and a teamwork-oriented mindset
Ability to attain Secret Security Clearance (clearance is not required to start)
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience employing cybersecurity operations concepts in a cloud environment
Experience developing and refining detection and IR tactics, techniques, and procedures in response to changes in the threat landscape and adversary threat models
Blue, Red, and/or Purple Teaming experience
Experience with proactive cyber threat hunting and current best practices
Security+ or higher DoD 8570 approved IAT certification
Physical Requirements
Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of a Systems Analyst discipline. Office work environment normally encountered.
